THE LEGENDARY ROUTE

The route of the Großglockner Mountain Run, which takes place from July 9th to 11th, 2021, leads through all alpine vegetation levels - from the typical cultural landscape up to the high alpine glacier region. After the start, the participants walk through the village until they reach the end of the Heiligenblut valley. There the route leads to the Sattelalm and on to the Briccius Chapel. The Pasterze, the longest glacier in the Eastern Alps, is crossed over the Trogalm. The destination is on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. A total of 1,265 meters in altitude is covered over a distance of almost 13 kilometers. In 2021, the Großglockner Mountain Run is limited to 900 participants and, as expected, will be sold out again, as in previous years.
