In Foligno, the center of Umbria, on the road that leads the traveler from Rome to Assisi, it is pleasant to stop at Casa Mancia, a small hotel converted from a Renaissance residence, enriched in the 16th century by a bell tower and in the 18th century by a small church. A house, a small hotel, once the residence of the Podestà of Foligno, then the rectory of illustrious ecclesiastics and only since the 19th century the private residence of the Mancia family. In 2003 the private house was transformed into a delightful hotel, the result of a restoration that maintained the exemplary features of Renaissance buildings unchanged, carefully mixed with sober lines of contemporary design.
