The Platriere Retreat Guest House and Holiday Cottage
La Platriere Retreat is perfect for those who want to 'get away from it all' and enjoy the treasures that are still hidden in the Heart of France. We offer bed and breakfast option in our guest house, or if you prefer, why not stay in our self-catering cottage.
We are located near the border of Cher and Nièvre which means that visitors can enjoy the best of both regions as well as everything the Auvergne can offer.
La Platriere is located in the 'Bourbonnais' near the famous forest of Tronçais, renowned for its many medieval villages, castles and chateaux. Situated in the Auvergne you can visit the two national parks where you will see the volcanoes and mountains of the Massif Central. Close to spa town of Bourbon L'archambault where you enjoy relaxing thermal baths. You can also visit the many lakes, rivers, gorges, medieval towns and villages, summer festivals and brocantes. Add to that the gastronomic delights of traditional French cooking, wonderful cheeses and some of the best wines in the world, you will soon fall in love with this special part of France.
Whilst at La Platriere you can relax by our pool, gazing across the stunning views of the valley below, or enjoy an evening meal of home-cooked local produce, all washed down with a glass (or two) of wine.
All bedrooms have private shower ensuites, and hospitality trays and views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.
The cottage sleeps up to 6 people, with two bedrooms, two sitting rooms and a large kitchen with dining area. Private parking and enclosed private garden.
