The 'love for the island of Salina has prompted residents to promote and establish the first natural reserve of Aeolian "Leeks Monte and Monte Fossa Delle Felci" now a destination for lovers of trekking.
These are the names of two volcanoes twins that inspired the name greek island, Didyme = twins.
The Monte Fossa delle Felci is the highest of the minor islands of Sicily and the second in the Italian ones.
Other crater is still visible, a few meters above sea level, within which lies the village of Pollara, split on the coast line: you can swim safely in the middle of the ancient mouth of fire.

A peculiarity of the island is the salt lake of language on the extreme southeastern tip where once produced salt and then gave the name to Salina.
