Farm Tuscany
Il Poggio is a farm set in 70 hectares among the green hills of the Tuscan countryside. The large stone farmhouse, situated on its own hill, offers a wide, spectacular vista of the gentle rolling countryside of the Upper Tiber Valley.
Green hills merge into olive groves -- and then merge into vineyards, fields, and silent rows of cypresses -- offering possibilities for relaxing walks while enjoying the spectacular view of the lake and valley below.
The farmhouse has been recently restored by local craftmen with great attention to detail -- maintaining the traditional ambience of a typical Tuscan farmhouse. It features beamed ceilings, stone walls, tiled floors, and comfortable furnishings including antique pieces.
The first floor consists of a spacious living room with a large dining area, an enormous stone fireplace, a cosy TV corner, and a typical Tuscan terrace (balco) where you can enjoy outdoor meals al fresco.
The large country kitchen with another big fireplace is accessible either from the first floor inside or from the garden direcly. It is fully equipped with a fridge, an electric oven, a washing machine, and all necessary utensils.
The five large bedrooms (three doubles and two with two twin beds each -- sleeping ten persons) have exposed beams, and offer stunning views from each window. They are furnished in elegant country style.
The private swimming pool with a furnished pergola is secluded from the house by well-established trees. Swimming in the over-sized, 7x14-meter pool (21 x 42 feet) -- which is surrounded by olive groves and lavender bushes, is a gift to both body and soul.
